MOVING PORTRIATS
PRODUCER
Moving Portraits is a short dance film by dancers Himerria Wortham and Raquel Cabrera. Born out of a yearning for elevated images of women of color, Wortham and Cabrera borrowed from their respective Algerian and Mexican cultures to create this contemporary dance portrait. "Our goal with Moving Portraits is to celebrate the beauty of our mixed heritages and American cultures through fashion and dance. Understanding that media is one of the strongest educational vehicles of change, we wanted to create images of women of color that encapsulate the dignity, beauty, and poise we wished we could have grown up seeing on TV." - Himerria Wortham.
Supporting with logistics, design, filming, and post production, Art Mafia helped these two artists’ visions come to life.
